What do I want to accomplish this 2015?
This is a question that has been bothering me for a while. I don’t make resolutions, mostly because people that make resolutions tend to not complete them. I don’t want to be one of those people that says they wanna do something and starts the year with a lot of energy towards that goal and then quit a month later. Never the less, I still want to get things accomplished this year. One simple thing I want to accomplish this year is reading 55 books. Why 55? Because my goal this past year was 50 and I read 53, with that logic, if I aim for 55 I might read 60 and keep it growing every year.
Some of the things I want to accomplish are not as simple. For example, whenever I exercise, eat healthier or start a new hobby and people ask me what motivates me, I like to say it’s all part of becoming the best version of myself as possible. I even tell this to myself whenever I have doubts or feel down. Going through life is all about bettering yourself, becoming the best you you can be.
I believe I owe it to myself to be as great as possible. This doesn’t mean that I believe I’m better than other people or that I’m entitled to anything. I believe in hard work and I accept I don’t always succeed.
This past year was one of change for me, I moved, I ended and started both new jobs and relationships, and most importantly I was put in situations way out of my comfort zone. I had to constantly talk to people, I learned to build a fire, I learned to shoot an arrow, and I learned to open up to people. All these things helped me become a better version of myself. As I transition in to this new year, I know I want to keep improving myself.
